He is Magdi Habib Yacoub who born on xvi Nov of 1935 in Belbis, Ashraqya ,Egypt. He studied at Cairo university and became a physician in 1957, then he decided to specialize in middle surgery after his aunt's decease because of a heart affliction. He is a Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Imperial College London. When he was visiting the university of Nigeria Nsukka, he with Fabian Udekwu and others accept performed the first open up center surgery in 1974 in Nigeria.

1988: Bradshaw Lecture in Royal College of Physicians.

1992: he was knighted by HM Queen Elizabeth II.

1998: he won the Texas Heart Found Ray C. Fish Honor for Scientific Achievement in Cardiovascular Disease.
